Three Brooklyn parks are among some iconic streetball courts around the city that will receive more visibility and more money thanks to a new partnership.
The partnership between Baron Favis's SLiC Sports, ClashTV and Amazon Music will provide grant and scholarship money to six parks in all. The parks in Brooklyn are Gersh Park, the Isaiah Whitehead Classic in Coney Island and Brevoort Park.
Along with the money, they want to bring more visibility to these iconic streetball locations by livestreaming events to a larger audience.
"We picked those parks aside from just livestreaming, numbers, culture, and what they're doing for the community as far as helping the inner-city kid and giving back," said entrepreneur Chris "Gotti" Lorenzo.
"We're very interested in helping communities of color monetize through sports, grow through sports, become investors and on-cap tables of companies like ours," said Jonathan Anastas, CEO of ClashTV.
The Kingdome in Manhattan is also involved, as well as a park in White Plains in Westchester County, and another in Amityville on Long Island.
