A 3-month-old boy died after he was found unconscious inside a Highbridge home, police say.

The incident happened Saturday inside the boy's home on Ogden Avenue.

Police say the boy, later identified as Mark Ruane, was found by his mother unconscious and unresponsive inside his parents’ bed.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

According to the New York Daily News, the boy's parents were the subject of at least two prior child welfare investigations, including a 2015 case in which an older sibling was removed after the parents tested positive for drugs.

A medical examiner will determine the exact cause of the death.
