Three suspects stole an unattended bag containing $300,000 from a Brinks truck outside of a Chase Bank in Sunset Park last Friday.
The NYPD says that two of the three suspects asked the truck employee for directions while he was making a money drop. The third suspect went around and stole the bag full of cash.
The manager of Meylin Garden, which sits across the street from the Chase Bank where this robbery took place, says the neighborhood has seen an increase in crime and that they want more help from the NYPD to stop these incidents.
“It’s not only me, but the whole community is worried about this,” said Vicky, manager of Meylin Garden. “We want the police and government to call more attention to this.”
News 12 reached out to Chase Bank for a statement on the incident, and a spokesperson says Chase is currently cooperating with law enforcement’s investigation.
