Police say that the driver of a car that struck a 30-year-old man left the scene but eventually returned.
The incident happened on Sunday after 2 a.m. at the Major Deegan Expressway and Mosholu Parkway. Police say officers found an unconscious and unresponsive 30-year-old man who had been struck. EMS took him to SBH Health System but could not be saved.
The NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad found that a 23-year-old man driving a 2024 Toyota BZ4X struck the victim. The driver left the scene but later returned.
No official charges have been filed and the identity of the victim is still pending family notification.
