35th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut kicks off

Beginning Wednesday, officers from all over Connecticut ran through their town and will continue to pass the torch for the 35th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut until Friday.
Fairfield University DPS and Fairfield police helped to escort the Flame of Hope from Plainfield to Ledyard on Wednesday.
The Torch Run aims to promote awareness of Special Olympics, support for the organization's year-round sports and health programs, as well as inspire inclusion for people of all abilities across the state.
More than 1,500 law enforcement officers are expected to participate in the event.
