Four suspects involved in a shootout with police officers in Brooklyn on Wednesday night are now in custody.
Police say three officers in plain clothes were sitting in an unmarked SUV when they were shot at by two, possibly three, men just before 11 p.m. The officers immediately fired back, hitting one of the suspects, who fled the scene.
Officials say the officers were not injured, but they have been taken to Methodist Hospital for tinnitus. The 23-year-old suspect who was shot was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
The two other suspects, ages 24 and 21, respectively, have also been arrested. A person who helped the injured suspect get to the hospital has also been brought in for questioning.
