A New York Times/Siena College Poll reveals that Zohran Mamdani has a lead in the race for mayor of New York City.

The poll found that 46% of likely voters currently plan to choose Mamdani, the Democratic nominee.

The New York Times says his support spans racial and ethnic groups but it’s especially strong among young and highly educated voters.

Meanwhile, 24% of likely voters in the city said they would support Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an Independent after losing June’s primary.

A total of 15% would back the Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and 9% favored current New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
