The FDNY says five firefighters are in the hospital after a car fire and explosion in Longwood.
Citizen app video from the scene shows thick smoke in the area as flames leap from the car.
Firefighters were called to 955 Westchester Ave. just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Fire officials say the flames led to an explosion, injuring five of the firefighters battling the blaze.
The FDNY says the injured firefighters are being evaluated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
