The annual TCS New York City Marathon kicked off in Staten Island Sunday morning.
The course began at 8 a.m. with the wheelchair division followed by the handcycling category and athletes with disabilities. The professional women’s and men’s divisions took off around 8:40 a.m.
This year, there are 50,000 participants, including professional athletes, celebrities, first timers and many more people from diverse backgrounds, ages and abilities.
The race will culminate at Central Park in Manhattan.
