A Bronx family is grieving the loss of a 51-year-old woman after she was struck by a car and killed Thursday.
According to surveillance video, Elizabeth Wolmart, 51, had just parked on the corner of Burke Avenue right across from the Eastchester Garden Houses. She then attempted to cross the street when she was hit by the car.
Police say she was rushed to a hospital where she died. Her husband told News 12 she was a minister who devoted her life to helping others.
Officers report Zavee Georges, 32, was driving in a white Mercedes Benz heading westbound on Bouck Avenue when he made a left turn onto Burke Avenue, striking Wolmart.
Georges remained on scene and was arrested.
