Six healthy sea turtles were returned to the ocean in Point Pleasant on Thursday morning, thanks to Sea Turtle Recovery.
The nonprofit is the Garden State's only long-term rehab for sick and injured sea turtles.
Sea Turtle Recovery is located inside the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, and with the help of sponsors, provides food, medicine, surgeries and other treatments to the turtles while also raising awareness.
It costs about $2,000 in medical expenses for each turtle.
