Multiple families are displaced after a major fire broke out on Hull Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx.
Officials say seven families will be forced to spend the holiday someplace else after three buildings caught fire Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Red Cross, five of the seven displaced families are now in need of a place to live.
The FDNY says five firefighters suffered minor injuries and one resident was hurt in the fire.
According to the FDNY, three buildings were destroyed. The fire started on the third floor of a home and spread to the two homes on either side of it.
The top floor of one of the homes collapsed, making it a dangerous situation for residents and adding to the difficulty for firefighters to get the fire under control.
Crews did eventually get the fire under control. They remained at the scene Wednesday morning as a precaution.
