7 lawsuits detailing sex abuse allegations filed against multiple entities, including Pleasantville Cottage School

Seven lawsuits were filed in State Supreme Court, detailing child sex abuse allegations that happened at the Jewish Child Care Association's Pleasantville Cottage School.
One of the lawsuits describes the facility as, "a breeding ground for sexual abuse, physical violence, and trauma," which houses emotionally troubled children between 7 to 16 years old.
The allegations date back to the mid 2010s.

Madeleine Skaller, who represents the victims, says the claims show a pattern of grooming, and "violence being used to accomplish sexual abuse."
"The main legal claims that we're bringing against the defendants, including the JCCA are negligence, negligent hiring supervision training and retention....they basically allege that due to the acts and omissions by the employees at the facility, the sexual abuse of these individuals was able to take place," said Skaller.
Skaller added that now, they want justice, and to prevent this from ever happening again.
"To any survivor out there, who feels like they're the only person who was victimized in this way...that couldn't be further from the truth."
News 12 reached out to the JCCA for comment, but was told the group is unable to comment on pending litigation.
