A 7-Eleven in Canarsie was broken into early Tuesday morning while the citywide curfew was in effect, and it was all caught on video.
Three people broke into the store around 1 a.m. and after first canvassing the area and leaving. They then came back with a hammer to break through the glass door.
A video shows them climbing over crates that were blocking the entrance, and it appears one person went behind the counter and took cigarettes.
The police evidence collection team dusted those crates and cigarette boxes for fingerprints on Tuesday while investigating the scene.
The owner did not want to speak with News 12 on camera but says he was in his office, in the back, while it all happened.
He says he didn't hear anything but noticed the damage when he came out of his office around 2 a.m.
The owner tells News 12 that they are going to board up the entire store to protect the glass and prevent any break-ins from occurring Tuesday night.
