DA: 9 people indicted for crime spree spanning from Long Island to Florida
The Suffolk DA says the takedown comes after a list of auto body shop burglaries, multiple carjackings including one in Deer Park, and a home invasion in Bay Shore.

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney says nine people, six of them Long Islanders, are under arrest for an alleged crime spree that's stretched through Long Island into New York City, Westchester and Dutchess counties, and down the eastern seaboard to Florida.
Tierney says the takedown comes after a list of auto body shop burglaries, multiple carjackings, including one in Deer Park, and a home invasion in North Bay Shore.
News 12 is told the alleged 17-day crime spree took place from July to August of 2025.
The Suffolk DA's gang task force partnered with Suffolk police, the Suffolk County sheriff, New York State Police, the NYPD, and the ATF on the takedown.
"Thankfully for the work of the team behind me, we were able to take the ring down before fortunately anyone got hurt," said Tierney.
Investigators say the thieves stole tens of thousands of dollars in goods.
Those arrested were identified as:
Savion Jones, 22, of Huntington Station. Jones faces a top count of robbery in the first degree and faces up to 25 years in prison.
Leny Cruz, 23, of Brooklyn. Cruz faces a top count of robbery in the first degree and faces up to 25 years in prison.
Harvin Parra, 20, of Bay Shore, faces a top count of robbery. He was arraigned on the indictment and held on $350,000 cash, $750,000 bond, $1,500,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Parra is due back in court on March 24 and faces up to 25 years in prison.
Noel Santelises, 21, of Brooklyn. Santelises faces a top count of burglary in the third degree. He was arraigned on the indictment and was placed on supervised release because his charges are considered non-bail eligible under New York state law, meaning prosecutors cannot ask for, and judges cannot set, bail. Santelises is due back in court in March 25 and faces up to 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison.
Robert Salters, 20, of Wyandanch, faces a top count of robbery in the first degree. He was arraigned on the indictment and held on $150,000 cash, $500,000 bond, $1,000,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case and is due back in court on March 23. Salters faces up to 25 years in prison.
Edward Nunez, 28, of Brooklyn, faces a top count of burglary in the third degree. Nunez was arraigned and placed on supervised release because his charges are considered non-bail eligible under New York State law, meaning prosecutors cannot ask for, and judges cannot set, bail. He is due back in court on March 25, 2026, and faces up to 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison.
Justin Kelly, 24, of Bohemia, faces a top count of robbery in the first degree. Kenny was arraigned and held on $350,000 cash, $750,000 bond, $1,500,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Kenny is due back in court March 25, 2026 and faces up to 25 years in prison.
Jose Ramos, 20, of Bay Shore, faces a top count of robbery in the second degree. Ramos was arraigned on the indictment and was ordered held on $150,000 cash, $500,000 bond, $1,000,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Ramos is due back in court on March 25 and faces up to 15 years in prison.
Carlos Benitez-Montoya, 20, of Bay Shore, faces a top count of robbery in the second degree. He was arraigned on the indictment and held on $100,000 cash, $350,000 bond, $750,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Benitez-Montoya faces up to 15 years in prison.
