Get ready for a hectic holiday rush! AAA says travelers can expect to see some long lines and maybe even delays on the road and at the airport starting Thursday
Between now and Jan. 2, the travel company says more than 115 million people across the country will be traveling by car or plane.
The Transportation Security Administration says airports are prepared to screen more than 2.5 million people on the busiest days.
Passengers at LaGuardia Airport told News 12 they arrived three hours early to avoid the risk of missing their flight and were shocked by the length of the line.
“My stomach dropped. I didn’t know if I was going to make it home,” said Brent Cox as he waited in line at Terminal A. “ I have family to get to, I have kids to see.”
The TSA says Friday, Dec. 29 and New Year's Day are expected to be just as busy.
