A massive fire ripped through an abandoned building in Concourse Village on Clay Avenue Sunday night.
According to the FDNY, the fire started just before 9:30 p.m. with flames reported on the first floor of 1066 Clay Avenue.
Firefighters were able to put the flames out and the investigation into what caused this fire is ongoing.
However, this isn't the first fire at this building. Another two-alarm fire ripped through in April of 2021. There was a full vacate order issued at the time of this fire, and it still remains today.
There are a handful of complaints about this building on the department of buildings website that date back to 2005, many of them closed or resolved.
The latest one is from this year in January stating that the abandoned building has broken windows and people were going in and out of the property.
