A vacant property at 3242 Riverdale Ave. is raising safety concerns in the community.

Assemblymember Jeffrey Dinowitz says the lot is littered with trash, broken glass and overgrown weeds and is completely open to the public with only caution tape strung across.

The Department of Buildings says inspectors previously ordered the property owner to hire a professional engineer to assess slope stability and following 311 complaints, filed in late August.

It determined the site needed a construction fence for public safety. The DOB says if the owner does not install the fence, additional enforcement action may be taken.

Dinowitz says the city needs to act immediately before someone gets hurt.
