A transportation expo was held Tuesday to educate people with disabilities about the different options they have to get around the city.
The Access to Independence Day event was held in Downtown Brooklyn.
Wheelchair-users got to try out accessible vehicles and also had the chance to meet with city agencies.
The Department of Transportation also unveiled new accessible parking signs. It says they are easier to read and no longer use the term handicapped.
The DOT says the new signs and logo should be up by the end of the year.
