Environmental groups in the Bronx are spreading their message after a weekend of climate protests in the city.
At Brook Park in the South Bronx, groups like the Inner City Green Team and the Bronx Community Clergy Coalition spoke with residents about how they can help the borough be more sustainable. Activists say the best way to begin is to start small, like starting gardens or recycling. Alicia Grullon, from the Bronx Community Clergy Coalition, also suggested getting children involved.
World leaders are in New York City this week for the United Nations' Summit on Climate Change, after demonstrators held a march Sunday and a sit-in on Wall Street Monday.
"I do hope that the summit will bring a lot of positive results and solutions," says Grullon.
