Several anti-violence organizations rallied together Friday evening to keep their streets safe.

"Bronx Connect-Release the Grip," and other groups marched with community activists and Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson to the East 167th Street area. The location was the site of a stabbing and two shootings that all happened in the last few weeks.

A deadly stabbing on June 29 was followed by two triple shootings within the last week. A 4-year-old was struck in one of those shootings.

Participants say the march is crucial to keeping their streets safe.

"What we hope to do and accomplish, as we've done in the past, is just to put an atmosphere and put out and air blatantly that we will not tolerate gun violence," said ‘Release the Grip’ program supervisor, Michael Alvarado. "We will not tolerate any type of violence."

Organizers of the rally say they will keep marching together until violence in the area stops.
