A Bronx man has been arrested after being accused of sex trafficking children.
Attorney General Letitia James announced that 57-year-old Paul Alexander had been under investigation since March, when a minor reported Alexander to NYPD for allegedly sexually abusing her and other underage girls.
An undercover police officer met with Alexander, who then allegedly charged $300 for sexual intercourse with a minor.
The case marks the first time AG James has charged a defendant under the newly enacted crime of sex trafficking of a child.
James issued a statement which reads in part, "This individual's alleged actions jeopardized the health and safety of our children and highlighted the critical need for these new protections that strengthen our ability to hold perpetrators accountable for these gross violations of the law."
