Police rescue windsurfer from water in Cold Spring Harbor

Upon arrival, police were able to locate the victim who was near exhaustion and at risk of possible hypothermia.

Officials say a man was rescued from the water in Cold Spring Harbor on Wednesday.
According to police, Nassau County Marine Bureau received a call for a windsurfer in distress due to high winds. 
Upon arrival, police were able to locate the victim who was near exhaustion and at risk of possible hypothermia.  
Officer Thomas Siesto, Officer Brendan McGovern, Officer Parsa Karmi and Sgt. Scott Amberman rescued the man from the water and transported him back to the shore. 
The man then taken by Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department to a hospital for treatment. 
Cold Spring Harbor Master, Suffolk County Police Department and Suffolk County Aviation also responded, participating in a coordinated search and rescue effort.
