Nine alleged Bloods gang members are being accused of running a sex trafficking operation in the Bronx, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.
Six of those gang members were arrested Wednesday, and two were already on Rikers Island for another crime, according to the Bronx DA’s office.
The gang members were allegedly running a prostitution ring at the following Bronx hotel and motel locations:
- 7 Days Hotel
- Best Western Plus
- Pelham Garden Motel
- Holiday Motel
The suspects are accused of preying on teen girls, who the DA’s office says they would reach out to on social media.
Authorities say a woman would rent a room and message one of the girls to have her meet with clients. They say the oldest victim is in her early 20’s and the youngest is 17 years old.
The suspects were arrested and charged with sex trafficking of a child, promoting prostitution and conspiracy.
The gang members are also accused of striking victims in the face. The Bronx DA’s office says this was a joint operation by the NYPD Vice Enforcement Unit and the Bronx’s DA’s Human Trafficking Unit.
