American Airlines is adding five minutes to boarding times starting this spring.
The change, effective May 1, applies to all domestic flights, the airline announced.

It’s also intended to reduce gate-checked carry-ons and give flight attendants more time to stow bags in overhead bins, improving the boarding process for passengers.
