A 2-year-old fell out of a third-story window on Brook Avenue in Mott Haven Wednesday, but is expected to survive.
Police say the boy, whose first name is Da'mir, fell through a screen at 10:38 a.m.
"He's very lucky," says Da'mir's aunt, Raelene Holmes. "I don't think anybody else would survive this."
Da'mir lives at the 451 Brooke Ave. apartment with three siblings and his parents, according to Holmes.
She says the child's mother was using the bathroom when the boy fell through the window.
The screen was not sturdy enough to support the child's weight, Holmes says, and the family has no rails outside the window.
Officials say Da'mir will likely spend the night at Lincoln Hospital.
