New Jersey film director Kevin Smith says he has suffered and survived a massive heart attack.
The host of AMC's “Comic Book Men” tweeted from his hospital bed Sunday alerting fans he had just suffered a massive heart attack.
Smith was filming a special standup comedy routine in Los Angeles and had to cancel the second appearance after the incident.
In a tweet, Smith wrote, "After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka "the Widow-Maker"). If I hadn't canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would've died tonight. But for now, I'm still above ground!"
The New Jersey native is best known for his 1994 film “Clerks.”
