New York City Transit is hiring extra help to clean up Bronx and city trains and subways.
The agency plans to hire nearly 350 workers to clear trash from platforms, train cars and tracks. NYC Transit estimates the project will cost $7.6 million. The agency says the change is an effort to improve customer satisfaction.
While many straphangers welcome the cleanup, one man said he doesn't see the need. He told News 12 The Bronx subways and trains are cleaner than they've ever been.
