Seven-year-old Layla Malon will be remembered Wednesday at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield. She will be buried at the Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport on Friday.

According to police, Layla died Thursday, June 17. Police say Layla and her mother died in a murder-suicide.

Born in Danbury, she was the beloved daughter of Eric Malon, of Westport, and the late Tracy Do.

In lieu of flowers, the Malon family requested contributions be made in Layla's memory to Mental Health Connecticut in West Hartford.
