New buses, better service en route with $13.7M plan
Bronx commuters could soon see a major $13.7 million upgrade to the borough's train and bus systems.
The MTA plans to spend $3.2 million to create a BX50 bus that would run between Fordham Plaza and LaGuardia Airport to ease the current commute. A Fordham Plaza-to-Flushing, Queens bus is also planned.
The project includes 24-hour service on the BX1, 3, 5 and 15 buses, and the BX36 would have an extra stop.
Upgrades for the 1, 4, 6 and B trains are also planned.
The initial project was announced in December, but the MTA says it's waiting until the end of the first quarter to ensure it has the funds.
