The New York state Senate passed a bill this week that
restricts the use of lyrics as evidence in the court of law.
This bill is the first of its kind in the nation, and has
caught the attention of rappers like Jay-Z and Fat Joe.
News 12’s Phil Taitt sat down with state Sen. Zellnor
Myrie, one of the sponsors of the bill, and Maino, a Brooklyn-based rapper, to
discuss the legislation aimed to protect artists.
