Police say a DOE employee was arrested for sexually abusing a 15-year-old inside an apartment on West 168th Street in Highbridge.
They say the incident happened between February and March of last year.
The DOE says the accused, Malik Barr, works at the Highbridge Green School and has been suspended without pay.
They told News 12 that Barr is a paraprofessional, but the school's website has him listed as the dean.
Barr's charges include forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
News 12 did speak to Barr, but he says he could not comment on the case at this time.
