A 2-year-old boy was slashed in the face by a man in the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan. 

Police say the man cut the boy above his right eye near West 110th Street and Morningside Drive Wednesday morning. 

News 12 is told the suspect ran away. 

Officers describe the suspect as about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with short black hair. The man was wearing a white shirt, dark shorts and black sneakers.
