State officials are expecting drivers to hit the road this week as schools have closed for midwinter recess.

News 12’s Josiah Darnell spoke with some drivers at the Mobil station on Atlantic Avenue in East New York about the current gas prices.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Brooklyn can be found at Sonomax on 278 Greenpoint Ave. at $3.09 a gallon. For the Bronx – Citgo at 3400 Baychester Ave. at $3.29 a gallon.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $3.41. In New York, it’s $3.49.
