The Suffolk high school math teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student faced a judge on Tuesday.

Police say 28-year-old Veronica Pezdan, of Holbrook, was involved with a 15-year-old boy. The Shoreham-Wading River School District says it got a tip from a concerned staff member.

That's when they launched an investigation and notified police. She was allegedly involved in that relationship for the past two months.

Pezdan has been released on supervised release with GPS monitoring. An order of protection was issued for the victim.

Pezdan is charged with rape and child endangerment.
