Animal shelter volunteers take pies in the face to raise funds for pets

Would you take a pie in the face for your dog? Volunteers at the Angels for Mistreated Animals animal rescue did just that Wednesday to help raise money for their cause.
The shelter partnered up with animal shelter Jordan's Way to raise funds for their cats and dogs while also finding them new homes.
Volunteers sat in the kennels with the dogs and took everything from pies in the face to ice water showers.
"They're doing a 50-state tour, and they're raising money for every single shelter in every single state that they choose to go to. They're clearing the shelters so they're raising awareness, raising funds and getting some of these animals into really awesome homes," says Anna Khazanova, co-founder of Angels for Mistreated Animals.
Angels for Mistreated Animals has been running for eight years and made its home in Brooklyn in 2019.
