Animals in the Bronx got their own special blessing at St. Helena's Church on Tuesday.
The church's pastor, Father David Powers, blessed the animals with holy water in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis.
Powers says that Saint Francis of Assisi always believed that animals were man's brothers and sisters.
Since he died nearly 800 years ago, Catholics have been blessing both farm animals and their own pets.
Another blessing of the animals will be held on Sunday.
