The celebration of Kwanzaa continued Friday at St. Helena's Church in Parkchester.
The annual celebration brought people from all over the Bronx together during the holiday to reflect on the seven principles and to learn more about what Kwanzaa is truly about.
Organizers say each principal has a significant meaning, whether it is unity or faith, which people should practice in their everyday life.
Between the celebrations, there was also some time to do shopping, which helped support the local African-American community.
This year was the eighth year the event was held in Parkchester. It has been 50 years since the holiday was first observed.
Event organizers say they are planning an even bigger event for next year.
