Thousands of orchids are on display at the New York Botanical Gardens for its annual Orchid Show.

The annual exhibit features more than 3,000 vibrant orchids.

"There are more orchids than ever before in this exhibition and more special orchids," Karen Daubmann of the New York Botanical Gardens tells News 12.

Daniel Ost, a Belgian floral artist and designer of the show, says it took him more than a year to plan and design the exhibit. He says his goal was to maintain the individuality of the delicate and exotic plants.

"There are variations in orchids that is the size of your pinky to the size of your head. They can arrange in color, blues to browns to greens," Daubmann said.

Now in its 16th year, the Orchid Show draws thousands of people to the botanical gardens.

The Orchid Show is on display from March 3 to April 22.
