Jewelers in Williamsburg are on high alert Wednesday after two stores were burglarized within days of each other on Graham Avenue. Each business reported having around $30,000 worth of jewelry stolen.
The latest incident happened this past Sunday at Majestic Jewelry. Police say a man entered the store around noon and stole $32,000 worth of merchandise before running off. The suspect remains on the loose.
This comes just four days after Blanc's Gold & Diamonds down the street was also targeted. The entire incident was caught on camera.
The owner says the suspect came in looking to make a purchase, and when he turned his head, the man quickly ran off and stole two gold chains worth $30,000. This suspect is also on the run.
Authorities say the two incidents are not being investigated as linked to each other. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
