The Bronx staple landed a spot on the New York Times list "57 Best Sandwich's That Define NYC." Its signature sandwich, "The Casa," is generating a lot of buzz and longer lines.
The family business has been serving the Bronx for 31 years. The Carciotto family tells News 12 they pride themselves on their homemade mozzarella.
"To me this is not just mozzarella, this is Italian culture all in one," says Carlo Carciotto.
The family says this recognition is an honor, and they will continue to stay true to tradition.
"We do it a little bit more of an Italian style here... It's thin, like the way in Italy. If you like it, come here. If not, we're not going to break tradition."
Customers tell News 12 this hot spot is like no other with the best mozzarella in the Bronx.
Carlo Carciotto says they have built a strong community of support. "I think the one thing that brings everyone together is food," he says.
