An assault suspect is on the run after escaping police custody early Sunday morning in Morrisania, according to authorities.

Officials say the man was apprehended inside 1348 Webster Ave. and fled the scene on foot.

According to police sources, the was suspect was wearing an orange and pink hooded sweatshirt with grey sweatpants.
