Atlanta burger restaurant “Slutty Vegan” opened its first New York City location Sunday in Brooklyn.
The chain had its grand opening in Fort Greene. As expected, the line for the restaurant's scrumptious burgers was down the block full of people ready to get a bite.
The streets were also blocked off for a block party to celebrate Slutty Vegan's grand opening.
Slutty Vegan was born when the owner, Pinky Cole, couldn't find any vegan based restaurants open after 9 p.m.
It all started in a shared kitchen. Cole said it was her intention to be a “ghost kitchen” where customers would order food online and use a delivery service to get it.
Due to high demand, Slutty Vegan expanded to a food truck to cater to more people.
Despite the pandemic, the restaurant chain has only seemed to grow through word of mouth and social media.
Mayor Eric Adams declared Sept. 18 as “Slutty Vegan Brooklyn Day.”
