Authorities say five people, including two firefighters, were injured in an overnight fire at a home in Cypress Hills in Brooklyn.
Investigators say the two-alarm fire started around 2 a.m. at the home on Ashford Street. They say it took 106 firefighters more than an hour to put out the flames.
The family’s house was left with blown out windows, charred walls and their belongings scattered across the lawn.
The family says the Red Cross has a place for them to stay until Tuesday.
The FDNY says four people, including two firefighters, are being treated for minor injuries at the hospital while one woman is in serious condition.
The woman’s family says that she's on a ventilator and has burns covering 40% of her body, but she is expected to recover.
The residents of the home told News 12 they are not sure what caused the fire. Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
