Investigators say the death of two newborn babies who were found in November have been deemed as homicides.
The infants were found dead behind an apartment building in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx.
Authorities say they don't have much information on who the parents are or why the babies were left there. They are offering a reward up to $10,000 for anyone who may have information on the case.
Detectives have searched local area hospitals for a woman that may have gotten care after giving birth, but they say they haven't found any information that way. Now they say they are relying on a scientific investigation for answers, including fingerprints and DNA.
Anyone who may be in a situation where they are pregnant but can’t care for the child, the Abandoned Infant Protection Act allows parents to leave a newborn up to 30 days old in a safe place, like a fire house, police station or hospital, without being charged.
