Authorities say at least six people were arrested for delivering drugs across the city while posing as drivers for the ride-hailing service Uber.

Under the sting operation called "Operation Uber Connect," police seized a kilogram of cocaine, five vehicles and more than $22,000 in cash.

Federal authorities say the suspects placed fake Uber logos and stickers on their cars, which allowed them to park in front of buildings in the Bronx and Manhattan to wait for drug deliveries without drawing suspicion.

Police believe Alfredo Tejada-Almonte was the leader of the drug ring. He was arrested last week at 1860 Grand Concourse. Authorities say he and his alleged accomplices had more than 100 customers in the Bronx and upper Manhattan.

All six suspects are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Tejada-Almonte was being held on $150,000 bail.
