A man stopped traffic for subway riders in Soundview for a handful of hours Tuesday morning, authorities say.
Witnesses tell News 12 a man was standing on top of what appeared to be a structural part of the station for hours – yelling and pacing. Witnesses captured the event on their phones while trying to figure out why and how the man made his way up.
That man was taken down by authorities and placed in an ambulance outside the Morrison Avenue Soundview station.
The MTA said the 6 train was temporarily suspended in both directions between Hunts Point Avenue and Pelham Bay Park, but it is now back in service.
No injuries were reported. It's unclear why that man was on top of the structure.
