Authorities are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman in Brooklyn and then robbed her.
News 12 is told the suspect followed a 47-year-old woman and forced his way inside her building Thursday at around 12:30 p.m. on Avenue N and East 33rd Street.
Police say he pulled out a gun and tied her up with duct tape and zip ties.
The man then allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and ran off with her cellphone and money.
Authorities say the suspect was last seen taking off in a 2012 gray Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.
Neighbors say the incident is shocking for what they call a normally quiet neighborhood.
"The fact that these crimes are happening during day-time hours is concerning," one resident says. "Usually you'd expect these things to happen in the middle of the night so I think it is alarming."
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
