A shooting in Throgs Neck left one man fighting for his life and caused a nearby middle school to go on temporary lockdown.  
The incident took place on Randall Avenue when a 43-year-old man was shot in the head in broad daylight.  
Cops swarmed the scene at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where he remains in critical condition.  
According to the Department of Education, Middle School X101 went into a “brief shelter-in” because of an off-campus incident in the area. No one there was impacted by the shooting.  
The police are still investigating the scene and searching for any information regarding the perpetrator.
