Bronx activist Hetty Fox has been handing out toys each holiday season for the past 26 years.
"My grandmother was the one who actually got me started to do something for these young children," Fox says.
On her own, Fox takes on the daunting task of collecting toys.
She gave out more than 100 of them this year.
Collecting them from wherever she can and from whomever she can.
"I think we need to celebrate children as best we can," she says.
Fox says although the yearly tradition is a lot of work, seeing smiles on the faces of the happy children makes it all worth it.
And although she says her age is catching up on her she has no intention of slowing down.
"As long as I'm alive," she laughed. "Because to me it's important. Children are the key for the future and that's just not a saying. It's the truth."
